30 years' teaching • AQA Economics Team Lead Examiner

Experienced A Level Economics and Business teacher with extensive examining, tutoring and university-application experience.

After completing my A levels in German, French and Business, I went on to study Business Economics at Nottingham Trent University, where I achieved a BA with Honours. Having made the decision to teach, I then went on to attain a postgraduate PGCE in Secondary Education at Sheffield Hallam University.

I have been a teacher of A Level Economics and Business (AQA) for 30 years in both state and private schools. I have also been a tutor for 10 years, tutoring both Edexcel and AQA boards using Teams. I am a Team Lead Examiner for Paper 1 of the AQA Economics board as well as an examiner for Pearson BTEC Level 3 Finance.

Throughout my career, I have successfully supported students with applications to Oxford and Cambridge in respect of writing personal statements and preparing them for mock interviews. I have also supported students through Degree Apprenticeship programmes for notable financial companies in London. I have also been an EPQ mentor when students have chosen to write their Extended Project in an economics context.

I am able to bring the subject to life using real-world examples and regularly assess student ability with integrated exam practice. Lessons are scaffolded to support student ability at all levels with the aim of improving confidence over time.

My Team Leader role with AQA involves managing a team of examiners in terms of quality control and standardisation of graded assessments as well as supporting new examiners.

Mathematics teacher supporting GCSE, IGCSE, Further Mathematics and A Level students with conceptual understanding and exam technique.

I am a qualified Mathematics teacher with QTS, originally from Spain, with over four years of teaching experience working with students aged 11–18 across a range of abilities. I hold a First-Class Honours Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and have extensive private tutoring experience alongside my full-time teaching roles. I teach the Edexcel specification and support students studying GCSE, IGCSE, GCSE Further Mathematics and A Level Mathematics. I am also an Edexcel exam marker, giving me valuable insight into exam requirements, mark schemes and what examiners are looking for.

In my first year teaching exam classes, my IGCSE class achieved a +2.3 value-added score, while both of my A Level classes achieved value-added scores above the 90th percentile. My approach focuses on building confidence and developing a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, with carefully selected homework providing an important test of understanding and helping to identify areas for further development. I work with students of all abilities, helping them develop effective study and exam techniques while tailoring lessons to their individual needs and academic goals.

Nearly a decade teaching Maths • Six years' private tutoring

Mathematics teacher focused on helping pupils understand the reasoning behind methods rather than simply memorising processes.

I am passionate about helping pupils understand the world of numbers. That means not just remembering processes but actually understanding what's happening so pupils are better equipped to apply their learning and do better in exams.

I've previously taught Maths at an 'Outstanding' school in NW London for almost a decade, as well being a senior member of the pastoral team. I have been tutoring privately for the last six years, adding great value to my pupils' learning and grades.

11 years' teaching & tutoring • Master’s in Theoretical Physics

A Level Physics specialist across AQA, Edexcel and OCR, with a focus on making difficult concepts and mathematical reasoning understandable.

Read full profile

I'm a Physics teacher with 11 years in the classroom and tutoring, and a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics from Queen Mary University of London. I currently teach Physics at an independent school in Surrey, and I tutor A-level Physics privately across AQA, Edexcel and OCR.

Over the years, I've taught and tutored students across the full range of ability — from those building confidence and securing the fundamentals, through to high-achievers aiming for A and A*. Several of my students have gone on to study at Cambridge, Imperial College London, and other top universities.

I focus on making difficult ideas genuinely understandable: breaking complex topics into clear, manageable steps and showing how the maths connects to the underlying physics — the part students most often get stuck on. We practise a wide range of questions, and I teach students how to approach a problem rather than just how to answer one; with enough of that, recall takes care of itself.

17 years' teaching • Associate Assistant Principal • AQA Examiner

Secondary Science teacher combining subject expertise, leadership experience and first-hand AQA examining insight.

I have been teaching secondary science for 17 years, and my passion for helping students succeed in the classroom is as strong today as when I first started. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline and a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning, I combine deep subject expertise with tailored teaching strategies to make complex scientific concepts accessible to every learner.

I teach GCSE Combined Science and GCSE Biology across both higher and foundation tiers. In addition to my school leadership responsibilities as an Associate Assistant Principal, I serve as an examiner for AQA for both GCSE combined science in Biology and Physics papers. This firsthand examining experience allows me to guide students through the exact nuances of exam technique, ensuring they enter their assessments confident, fully prepared, and capable of achieving their highest possible grades.

Helping students understand the subject, rebuild their confidence and discover what they're capable of.

I'm Shayan, a Cambridge Natural Sciences graduate specialising in Astrophysics, with over 12 years of experience teaching and tutoring students from Year 7 through to A Level. I've worked with students across the full ability range from those who have lost confidence and are struggling to pass, to high-achieving students aiming for Grade 9s, A*s and Oxbridge.

My teaching is highly personalised. I take time to understand how each student thinks, identify the gaps or misconceptions holding them back, and explain concepts in a way that makes sense to them. I believe exam technique is important, but genuine confidence comes from understanding why something works rather than simply memorising what to do.

My goal is for a student to leave a lesson not just knowing how to answer a particular question, but thinking: “I understand this. I can do this. And I know what to do when the question looks different.”
